A JazZ comes this summer on July 6, 7 and 8!

For the eighth consecutive years the international A to JazZ Festival is held in Sofia. In the days of 6th to 8th July one of the biggest and most anticipated musical events of the capital will traditionally be located in the beautiful South Park II!

Over 25,000 people from the country and many foreign guests visited the previous edition of the festival to enjoy the popular Swedish trio Dirty Loops, the phenomenon of contemporary jazz Robert Glasper Experiment, the exceptional Christian McBride and many other artists from Europe and Bulgaria. The A to JazZ program also included a children’s educational program, a special festival booth, a colorful art-bazaar, cocktail bars and baking, as well as crazy jam sessions by morning.

In the A to Jazz Festival 2018, this year’s venue will find some of the biggest names in the world, Bulgarian and European jazz scene as well as many new opportunities for an even more enjoyable jazz experience under the open sky.

The International A to JazZ Festival is one of the symbols of music Sofia, spreading the jazz spirit in the city and transforming it into a capital of improvised music for three days. Established in 2011 by a team, young and inspired by music, and with the exclusive support of America for Bulgaria Foundation, the festival traditionally marks the beginning of summer, presenting the best of worldwide jazz music in open air. The beautiful South Park 2 has welcomed an audience of more than 100 000 people and great musicians such as Christian McBride, Robert Glasper, Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, Branford Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Richard Bona, Michel Camilo, Dianne Reeves, Jose James, Dirty Loops, Nik West who performed on its stage.

Our mission is to promote this art, to make it even more accessible to people, so that everyone can find jazz in himself. We wish to educate the children and the youngsters in a better sound and emotional environment and to make the dreams of the traditional jazz fans come true. We’re inspired because jazz is a music of the moment, of the improvisation, of the free spirit.

A to Jazz Festival is organized by A to Z Foundation and America for Bulgaria Foundation, with the support of Sofia Municipality and the Ministry of culture. The event is under the patronage of Mr. Elen Gerdjikov – Chairman of Sofia Municipal Council.
